History

Founded in 1996, our parent company PHYTEC America began offering System on Module (SOM) sub-assemblies along with German-manufactured CAN products to customers in North America. In order to expand its product portfolio as well as meeting the need for prompt and expert technical support, Rene Hackl, an engineer working at PHYTEC Germany was asked to join the new American venture during its start-up phase. In 1999 Rene moved to Bainbridge Island, WA and has since made the beautiful island his home. Through hard work and a commitment to service excellence, sales of CAN products experienced rapid growth during the first decade. In 2012 PHYTEC started the process of spinning off its CAN products business unit into its own profit center. The transition was completed with the creation of Phytools, a PHYTEC America
subsidiary, in January 2013.
