Fieldbus diagnostics at the physical and logical level

GEMAC CAN-Bus Tester GT3, included tablet, measuring head, case with accessories included all licenses for 36 months

*As part of the product launch, we are offering the device at an attractive introductory rate for a limited time.  If you place your order by December 31, 2026, you will receive the GT3 with all licenses for 36 months.

As a completely redesigned piece of hardware and software, the CBT GT3 addresses the physical challenges of higher CAN FD baud rates up to 5 Mbit/s with new measured values such as signal quality FD, setup/hold time, and signal-to-noise ratio in dominant and recessive phases. The robust measuring head with M12 connection and external ground option minimizes interference, while advanced logical analyses (CANopen, SAE J1939, protocol monitor) provide a holistic view of physical, logical, and functional levels. With up to 8 hours of operating time, IP20 protection, and PC software compatibility, the GT3 sets new standards for mobile and stationary CAN diagnostics.

The CAN Bus Tester GT3 embodies a consistent further development of proven principles from earlier GEMAC models such as the CAN Bus Tester 2 and CANtouch, combined with groundbreaking innovations for the requirements of modern CAN and CAN FD systems. While previous devices focused on robust physical bus analysis, the GT3 takes this philosophy to a new level: a battery-powered tablet diagnostic device with a remote measuring head enables precise measurements without disruptive stub cables – ideal for harsh field applications and precise development work in CAN Classic and CAN-FD.

Familiar elements such as oscilloscope views with color coding of the differential signal and classic level measurements (CANH/CANL) ensure a smooth transition for existing users

Universal Network Data and Signal Analysis:

For CANopen and SAE J1939 bus systems, this analysis provides in-depth insight into the entire bus communication—ideal for developers, service technicians, and quality assurance engineers in mechanical engineering and automotive technology.
Signal decoding and monitoring
All transmitted signals, such as angles, counters, positions, pressures, or voltages, are decoded and monitored in real time. The analysis records value ranges, compiles statistics, and assigns them to designated devices (sensors, ECUs), making machine behavior transparent and deviations immediately apparent.
Error diagnosis and log checking
In the event of an error, the software highlights critical deviations, emergency telegrams, and protocol violations—such as unanswered queries or incomplete transfers. This facilitates rapid fault localization and ensures maximum network reliability.

Physical Measurements
Bus analysis Monitors bus status, error telegrams, voltages, common mode, and CAN levels in real time—for reliable network diagnostics.
Node details Up to 30 values per participant (Classic/FD) – bus load, error frames, voltages, setup/hold times, signal quality, and bit asymmetry. Graphical oscilloscope view with decoding for precise troubleshooting.
logger Time-series recording of all measured values – ideal for detailed fault analysis in the network.
wiring Quick 4-step test for reliable verification of bus wiring – prevents costly connection errors from the outset.
Logical Measurements
CAN TX/RX Precise transmission and reception with symbolic decoding at the CAN ID level—for reliable communication testing.
CANopen RX Receive and decode all CANopen messages in detail – seamless insight into protocol data.
SAE J1939 RX Complete analysis of SAE J1939 (including ISOBUS and NMEA2000) – decodes complex vehicle networks.
log analysis Ensures smooth data traffic through deep decoding of CANopen and SAE J1939 with comprehensive signal statistics – see next tab.
