The PCAN-XL Starter Bundle provides everything needed to get started with the new standard CAN XL. With an USB to CAN interface, a professional CAN analysis software, and a programming interface.
Since at least two participants are required for a functioning CAN XL communication, as with classic CAN, PEAK-System offers the bundle with one or two PCAN-USB XL interfaces. Enabling customers without a suitable CAN XL counterpart to gain their first experiences with the new standard.
The CAN interface PCAN-USB XL ensures an uncomplicated connection to CAN XL, CAN FD, and CAN CC buses via the USB port of a computer. Galvanic isolation of up to 500 Volts decouples the PC from the CAN bus. With its compact plastic casing, it is ideal for mobile applications.
In addition, the starter bundle includes the Early Access edition of the professional CAN analysis software PCAN-Explorer 7 and the programming interface PCAN-Basic for the development of applications with CAN connection, both enhanced with CAN XL support.
CAN XL
CAN XL (Extended Data-Field Length) was designed to improve cooperation with Automotive Ethernet and to enable transmitting larger data streams for use cases such as ECU flashing. For this, the new standard provides transmission of up to 2048 bytes payload data per message and data bit rates of up to 20 Mbit/s.
