CANgineFD_BT (Bluetooth/CAN FD)


CANgineFD_BT is a small and powerful CAN FD-Bluetooth adapter. It enables the connection of any Bluetooth capable device to a CAN or CAN FD network. Due to the input and output in ASCII strings, CANgineFD_BT is completely platform-independent and requires neither special drivers nor software.

CANgineFD_BT is configured with a few commands and CAN and CAN FD messages can be sent and received on the bus immediately. Each incoming CAN message is either added to the receive buffer or sent directly via Bluetooth, depending on the configuration.

CANgineFD_BT is clocked with 80 MHz and supports CAN FD messages with bit rates up to 10 Mbit/s. Due to the downward compatibility of CAN FD, messages according to CAN 2.0 A/B can also be processed.

The device is powered via the CAN connector with the pin assignment recommended in CiA® 303-1. The Bluetooth connection uses the proven Serial Port Profile (SPP) to establish a transparent communication connection between CANgineFD_BT and the Bluetooth remote station.

Once CANgineFD_BT has been supplied with power, the device appears in the Bluetooth list and accepts incoming connection requests. Every Bluetooth capable device can now establish a connection to CANgineFD_BT via the SPP.
