Single channel Mini PCI Express CAN/CAN FD interface; PC communication over USB system bus.
The Kvaser Mini PCIe 1xCAN (01368-1) is a compact CAN board that adds CAN/CAN FD capabilities to any standard computer. As the successor to the Mini PCI Express HS (00688-1), it supports CAN FD up to 8 Mbit/s, with a 1 µs timestamp resolution, a CAN bitrate range of 20 kbit/s to 1 Mbit/s, and a message rate of 20,000 msg/s.
This board connects via USB 2.0 through a Mini PCI Express socket, ideal for setups with limited PCI Express lanes. For USB lane-based communication within the Mini PCI Express socket, the Mini PCI Express 1xCAN (01420-6) is recommended.
Equipped with next-generation SIC transceivers, the board improves signal quality at high bitrates and minimizes signal ringing, common in high-speed networks like CAN FD with longer stubs. It also includes error frame generation capabilities.
- Supports a bit rate from 40 to 1000 kbit/s and a CAN transfer rate up to 20000 messages/s.

- Low profile connector complies with the mini PCI Express standard, which connects via a cable to a DSUB (or other type) at the computer housing.

- Complies with EN 61000-6-2:2005, specifying EMC immunity for industrial environments.
- Operates over the industrial temperature range of -40 to +85°C.
- Kvaser's free of charge CANLIB SDK can be used to develop software for the Mini PCI Express HS board.
